Public Voting in Reality Shows - Boon or Bane?

As the jungs between contestants in our favourite musical reality shows are growing nearer, we, as the viewers, are clinging onto our seats, in utter anxiousness to see if our winner will come to the end. How can we assure that our favourite will make it to the top? Well, if you've got no mobile or cell phone, you're pretty much out of luck. For years together now, the basis of voting in music shows have been us, the janta. We make the final decision of who wins the title and who doesn't - but is this fair?Tears fall from our eyes when we see our favourite contesants get eliminated from a show and lose their chance of becoming India's next voice. This gives the incentive for viewers to not blame themselves, but rather, the channel. Whose fault is this?Channel heads will blame it on the public voters - after all, it's use who send hundreds of SMS messages everyday to keep our favourites at the top, but when we see them go, who do we blame? The last resort is to blame the format of the musical reality shows, where this question arises - should we continue to have public voting as the final decision maker for the shows? If talented contestants are getting ousted out each week, then should the judges have the final say in who goes and who stays? What should be the actual format for these shows? We cannot decide ourselves, but we can surely think. Is public voting the way to go? Are we able to trust our janta to the fullest and make sure that talent wins over everything else, or must the judges and other important factors be forced to play a key role as well?

There is a life after II3 for both, which is success. Both will make it in the industry. But the biggest winner here is Sony and the phone companies. Wow they are making cores and cores.
Honestly, Sony should allow people in Nepal to vote. I guess there is another 27million votes and money through each SMS.
I am not going to bash Prashant for not having thick voice but have you noticed he can very well. On the other hand, Amit Paul his fan base is growing bigger and bigger. I am starting to believe that he is THE Indian Idol 3. But again 50-50 chance and could go either way.
But who is worthy of the crown: Answer is for you to answer.
1. Amit Paul: good voice and loved by Judges and the host. Had dream of becoming a singer and trainer. Good looking, charming and well mannered.
2. Prashant Tamang: no connection, no father, he is the only bread and butter earner, very polite, sepoy, strong determination, very much underrated and unjustified by the judges and the host.

I would vote for Prashant as he is the underdog. If I was in his shoes I would have choked every step with judge giving me a negative feedback.

India and Indians are smarted than that. Bharat ki shaan Prashant Tamang.

I dont think Biphisa Basu's comments hold so much value. But some judges comments have to respected. Yes, AMIT AMIT AMIT is what she was shouting, but in vain. Tarnishing her own image in a national tv is not a boost of her image but rather ridiculing her image. We have already seen what 100% Amit can do and sing which is comparable to Prashant now. But if Prashant is groom and trained Amit will be no where near him. Roma was not built in one day. And Prashant is Rome. Amit will get to sing for Javeed or Anu Malik regardless of winning or not because he is the fav. one and the y have already agreed to give him something in the show. But poor Prashant is fighting despite all the judges not wanting him there. He is unwanted, not liked, not treated right, not praised for his effort and voice and not encouraged. He had beaten the odds and be Indian Idol 3.

I think prashant should be the next indian idol he has a beautiful voice just need little grooming he sounds like kishore and is very humble and soft. Amit will get change either way to sing for the giants but prashant will not so i want him to win. I think judges are doing him the favour by not siding with him because he is winning the sympathy of indian people.

amit was a readymade product where as prashant was raw and he made himself through his DOWN TO EARTH character.idol is not all about voice but trueness, innocence, patience and the way he beat all the odds and still working hard to refine oneself
which was done by our prashant. No doubt amitis not bad.but prashant made him the best not only his votes
